Renal Doppler

Course Overview

This course equips healthcare professionals with the skills to utilize Doppler ultrasound technology for evaluating the kidneys and their blood supply. Doppler plays a vital role in diagnosing and managing various renal conditions, particularly renal artery stenosis ( narrowing).

Curriculum

• Introduction to Renal Doppler
  
  • Principles of Doppler physics and hemodynamics in the renal vasculature
  • Instrumentation and optimization for renal Doppler examinations
• Renal Anatomy and Blood Flow
  
  • Review of renal anatomy with emphasis on the renal arteries and veins
  • Normal blood flow patterns in the renal arteries and intrarenal vessels
• Doppler Techniques for Renal Evaluation
  
  • B-mode imaging for kidney visualization and identification of vessels
  • Spectral Doppler waveform analysis (peak systolic velocity, resistive index)
  • Color Doppler imaging for flow visualization
  • Techniques for evaluating renal artery stenosis (RAS)
• Clinical Applications of Renal Doppler
  
  • Diagnosis of renal artery stenosis (RAS) and assessment of severity
  • Evaluation of hypertension (secondary to RAS)
  • Transplant kidney evaluation (renal artery and vein assessment)
  • Assessment of renal artery variations and accessory arteries
  • Detection of renal vein thrombosis
• Documentation and Reporting
  
  • Image acquisition protocols for renal Doppler examinations
  • Interpretation and reporting of Doppler findings for referring physicians

Eligibility

• Practicing Sonographers or Radiologists, or Nephrologists.
• Once applied, selection committee would inform you regarding your registration.

Duration and Fees

• Time: 3 and 5 Days
• Course Fees:
  • 5 Day Course: Rs 38,000 (Rs 50,000)
  • 3 Day Course: Rs 20,000 (Rs 25,000)
